National Library Week is April 10-16
The Sanborn Friends of the Library announces that National Library Week is April 10-16. National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association each year. This year’s theme is Find Your Place at the Library. Every day across the country, libraries open their doors to everyone: students, parents, seniors, teachers, writers, artists, job seekers, entrepreneurs, readers, gamers, movie lovers and travel buffs.
The Sanborn Public Library offers a variety of services for the community of Sanborn. In addition to checking out a good book to read or a spellbinding movie to watch there are a number of other services available. Services range from making copies, laminating, DVD repair, sending faxes, and WI-FI. E-books may be checked out at the library and help is available to learn how to use the service. Activities at the library include story hour for little ones, sit and stitch for older ones, a book club for adults and a summer reading program for youngsters. Magazines are available for check out or to be read in one of the many easy chairs by the fireplace. A meeting room is available for groups to use. Past issues of the Sanborn Pioneer are digitalized and available on the library’s web site at www.spl@tcaexpress.net.
Friends of the Library will have gift baskets on display at the library. Each basket has a book and items that enhance the theme of the book. There is also a basket for kids. Stop by and check them out and register for the drawings. Registration will run through April 21. There is a lot going on at our library, so be sure to drop in to check out a good book or two, a movie, use their computers and register for a gift basket. They look forward to seeing you at the library!
