Hawk boys medal in one event at State Track and Field Meet
Adams’ leap of 20’ 11-1/4” was fourth-best among the 24 Class 1A competitors. The senior earned the Hawks five team points.
Connor Dodd ran in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. The junior placed 13th overall in the 100 and 23rd overall in the 200. Sophomore Kooper Ebel was unable to give it a go in the 400 meter dash due to injury.
Adams joined sophomore Ryan Borden, senior Dawson Schiphoff and Dodd for both the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. The 4×100 was third in its heat but 10th overall and did not qualify for the final. The 4×200 finished 13th overall. The quartet was eighth in a heat that sent six schools on to the finals.
Ebel ran the 400 meter leg on the sprint medley relay that had qualified for state. In Des Moines, Borden moved to the anchor leg and followed carries from Adams, sophomore Travis Kamradt and Schiphoff. The group finished 24th.
