Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will host an opening round game of the Class 1A Region 1 softball tournament on Tuesday, July 6 at Hartley. The opponent in the 7:00 p.m. contest will be a familiar one: fellow War Eagle Conference member Harris-Lake Park. The team split their two games this season with HMS winning 15-1 May 28 at Lake Park and the Wolves returning the favor 9-4 June 23 at Hartley. The team that wins the rubber match will travel to Akron on Wednesday, July 7 to face the host Akron-Westfield Westerners in a regional quarterfinal.
