Supporting Sylas

These young ladies set up a lemonade stand at the entrance to Sanborn Foods June 30 to raise money in support of Sylas Gengler. Sylas is the six month old son of TJ Gengler and Angela Timm of Sanborn. He has been diagnosed with Trisomy 18, or Edward’s Syndrome, which is caused by an extra chromosome 18. This causes many of the organs to develop in an abnormal way. From his birth, which came seven weeks early, Sylas has received care at the neonatal intensive care unit at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. He has continued to fight his way through a number of surgeries and has earned the nickname “Buffalo.” Read his story and follow his progress at caringbridge.org
