Consider a morning run or walk on the prairie! The annual 5K Bison Stampede hosted by O’Brien County Conservation Board and Little Sioux Valley Conservation Association will be held on Saturday, August 7. The Bison Stampede 5K running or walking event will be held on the trails around the Prairie Heritage Center. After the race, participants and guests are invited to go for a cool down on the storybook walk which will feature a story about pond life.
The course covers 5K (3.1 miles) over a cross country style course. Participants can register on-line at www.prairieheritagecenter.org. Race day registrations will be available from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. The 5K Trail run will begin at 7:30 a.m. Awards will be given to the first place finisher in each age group and t-shirts will be given to every participant.
