A Movie Night will take place Sunday evening, August 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Melvin. The movie “Overcomer” will be shown. “Overcomer” was produced by the creators of War Room, Courageous and Fireproof. The movie is about a high school basketball team that is crushed by the closing of the town’s largest employer, and as a result hundreds of families move and the basketball team is lost. The coach is challenged by the school’s principal to coach a new sport, one that he doesn’t know or like. As he questions his own worth, he dares to help the least likely runner take on the biggest race of the year. This inspirational film contains a powerful mix of faith, humor and heart, and will have you on the edge of your seat. Root Beer floats will be served during a brief intermission.
