Century Mutual Insurance Assn. holds its 29th annual Fireman’s Golf Benefit
On Wednesday, August 25 Century Mutual Insurance Association, a Northwest Iowa farm and residential insurance company, held its Annual Fireman’s Golf Benefit Tournament. This year’s event was held at the Sanborn Golf and Country Club in Sanborn. Century Mutual sponsors the event with all entry fees from the teams being distributed to the fire department of their choice.
Golf started at 9:30 a.m. with 92 golfers comprising 23 teams teeing off.
The annual event is an 18-hole tournament which is held to benefit the local area volunteer fire departments. This year’s event raised $5,270 for the local departments, which will be split among 15 local fire departments.
Iowa State Bank, Sanborn Savings Bank, DLVV Trucking, Prairie View and Sanborn Auto all sponsored teams for the Sanborn Fire Department.
The winning team was sponsored by Savings Bank with a score of 61 strokes. A putting contest, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, refreshments, and prizes were also part of the day’s events.
