The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Band preformed Saturday, October 9 at the IHSMA State Marching Band Festival in Sheldon in Class 2A. They received a 3 rating at the IHSMA State Marching Band Festival. Other bands in the Class 2A competition were Lawton-Bronson High School (received a 1 rating). IKM-Manning (received a 1 rating), Cherokee Washington High School (received a 1 rating), Sibley-Ocheyedan High School (received a 1 rating), and West Lyon High School (received a 1 rating). HMS’s show title this year is “The Elements” Music played was “Firework” arranged by Michael Brown “Smoke on the Water” arranged by Michael Sweeney, “Learn to Fly” arranged by Michael Brown.
