The first winter storm of the season dropped six inches of snow on Sanborn last Friday afternoon and evening. It was accompanied by strong winds to blow the snow around and decrease visibility. City of Sanborn crews were removing the white stuff Saturday morning. Schools in the area were closed Friday as were some businesses. The storm also cancelled or postponed events. Warmer temperatures beginning Sunday were already causing some of the snow to melt.
