The Tresslers spent New Year’s Eve with friends Ann Strait and Jeff Gerrittson. They went to Sioux Falls for supper at the Carnival Brazilian Grill.
Christmas dinner guests in the Jose Salazar home were son Troy and April Salazar and daughters Emma and Isabelle; daughter Christy Ten Kley and grandkids Jacob, Ava, Ady and Claire; also daughter-in-law Nicole and Kelly Roder, grandsons Alic and Eric and fiancee Keely Swanson. They enjoyed games, opened gifts and enjoyed dinner together. Troy and family returned home later in the afternoon and Christy and family returned home on Monday.
Jim Dasen of Cedar Rapids came last week Tuesday to spend time in the parental Charlotte Dasen home. He returned home on Friday on icy roads beginning at Fort Dodge. Theresa Zafft, Hannah and Conner of Hayfield, MN, and Cathy Gray of Rochester came Wednesday and were overnight guests.
David Amundson of Canton, SD brought dinner and visited his Aunt Sally Knowlton on Sunday.
The Duane Van Veldhuizen family of 15 enjoyed the holidays in Cancun, Mexico.
Dianne and Ken Meyers, Eliot, Hannah and Abby spent Christmas week-end in the home of Larry and Fran Peelen. Tim and Wendy Peelen, Jake and Krystle Ness, Isabelle, Olivia, and Owen and Chelsea Peelen spent Christmas night in the Larry Peelen home. Fran had set the Christmas table with the 12 days of Christmas glasses given to her by her brother Gary Lottman when he returned from Vietnam. Fran had plates to match the glasses on a gold table cloth. After the Christmas meal they all enjoyed the cake Chelsea Peelen had baked especially for her grandfather Larry Peelen’s 87th birthday.
Christmas Eve guests in the home of Jose and Carol Salazar were son Troy and April Salazar, and granddaughters Christy, Emma and Isabelle; daughter Christy Ten Kley and grandchildren Jacob, Ava, Ady and Claire. Joining them also were daughter-in-law Nicole and Kelly Roder, grandsons Alix and Eric and fiancee Keedy Swanson, Carol’s sister, Margaret Larson, nieces Sarah, Ashley and Hajer. Also stopping in were Phil and Jean Snyder and Andy Gruhe and daughters Dottie and Nellie.
Saturday supper guests of Jack and Carol Elgersma were Don Hakeman and Jim and Becky Suckow. Don and Jack and Carol were Sunday dinner guests in the Suckow home.
Barney and Lindy Buren entertained Christmas guests. Out-of-town guests were James Carney of Denison, Kristi Ewoldt, James Childress and granddaughter Nesari from Georgia. Kari Sindt and great-nephew Harrison and great-niece Mallory of Everly were guests for the evening. Year’s Day festivities continued at the home of Joshua and Caresa Carney. All of the grandchildren were together. Josh grilled turkey and Caresa fixed a fabulous dinner of ham and all the trimmings. The best present was the photo session to treasure forever.
Larry and Fran Peelen celebrated New Year’s Eve in the home of Marie Westra of Sheldon. Lorna Blumeyer, Marie Van Veldhuizen and Alma Westra were also present. A fun evening was spent playing skip-o.
Corky Camarigg was a supper guest in the Mark and Denise Bohnet home Old Year’s Eve.
