City of Sanborn Projects Update
City of Sanborn Administrator Jim Zeutenhorst attended the Annual Sanborn Chamber of Commerce meeting on January 13 at Sanborn Community Center meeting giving some updates on the projects being done and in the works in Sanborn.
The Water plant is nearing completion with the final payment being approved. The Wastewater Project is behind in completion but is nearing completion the contractor is still working to complete the punch list.
Upcoming Projects in the works: 330th street from Western Avenue to the entrance of the current tree dump will be paved (that is the road that is just south of the pond in the new subdivision). The plan is to move the current tree dump and instead of burning, grinding the trees. Don’t want accidental fires happening again like what happened recently.
Improvements to 2nd and 3rd streets are in consideration.
The Sanborn Pool is getting a new boiler, the pool has been painted and the slide will be refurbished this spring prior to opening.
Jim says a new larger intake under the railroad tracks along east first street to alleviate drainage problems is needed.
In the Maris Estates house project 11 lots are sold and there are 26 available for purchase. It is not know how many homes will be there summer as of now Jim thinks around three to five but could be more.
It is in the plans to put in a new bike trail from the new water plant through Miller Park up to the new Maris Estates subdivision. Jim spoke about the pond saying the pond is filling slowly. The DNR will be coming in at some point to fill with game fish so people will be able to fish. There is a plan to maybe put in a T-dock or something to fish off of.
