Home double dual provides two wins for Okoboji/HMS

The gathering of three Siouxland Conference wrestling programs January 13 at Milford proved to be profitable for host Okoboji/HMS. The Pioneers turned away Sheldon/South O’Brien 45-32 before overwhelming a Sibley-Ocheyedan wrestling squad, few in number, by the score of 72-6.
Wins by three HMS grapplers helped Okoboji/HMS defeat the Orabs. At 152 pounds Bryce Dodge recorded a pin of Eddie Millan in 1:32. James Gellerman won the 182-pound match by fall over Zach Brinkman in 1:18. Heavyweight Nick Bronstad worked his way to a pin of Kaedon Louscher in 3:32. Winding up on the losing side were Jonathan Ortiz, who was pinned by 145-pounder Cason Johannes in 1:42, and Ethan Wiersma, who dropped a 13-7 decision to Landon Sietstra at 195.
In the dual with the Generals Dodge, Gellerman, Wiersma and Bronstad all picked up wins by forfeit. Ortiz wrestled Jonathan Krogman and lost by fall in 37 seconds. It was one of just four matches decided on the mat.
