At the regular Town Council meeting there was discussion of the proposed remodeling of the Municipal Building….Discussion pertaining to the installation of a stop-sign at the intersection of Main and First Street was tabled until the traffic control ordinance can be reviewed.
On February 22 the high school mixed quartet composed of Marla Geerdes, Leanne Donkersloot, Mike Van Engen, and Dave Marra went to Cherokee to participate in the Northwest Choral Festival.
The Sanborn Legion and Auxiliary are presently very concerned with learning more about the drug situation in northwest Iowa and have invited Sheriff George Sleeper to speak and show slides at their meeting March 6.

Funeral services for Marvin Achterhof were held Monday…He operated a barbershop in Sanborn for many years until his retirement in 1967 when he sold the business to Jerry Fritz.
The official measurable snowfall recorded for Sanborn from November 10, 1996 through February 24, 1997 totaled 48.60 inches. The total for the month of January was 15.85 inches.
Grandma’s Dollhouse, etc. is opening March 1st at 107 Main Street. Owners of the business are Gracie LaCour, Sallee Van Veldhuizen and Yvonne Borman.
Edith Vanden Berg returned home Thursday after working with a group of 12 people from northwest Iowa on a project at the Maranatha Christian School and Church in the inner city of Tampa, FL.
