The War Eagle Conference Academic Banquet was held March 22 at Harris-Lake Park high school in Lake Park. Included among those recognized were 15 students from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.

Class of 2022
Emily Heneman
Emily is the daughter of Molly and Tony Heneman. She has participated in Pep Band, Marching Band, Concert Band, Plays, Basketball Cheer and Football Cheer. Emily plans to attend the University of South Dakota. Her academic honors include National Honor Society.
Jasmine Lux
Jasmine is the daughter of Tricia and Jake Elgersma and Matt and Laura Lux. She has been active in Basketball, Volleyball, Track, Dance Team, Choir, Band, Jazz Choir, Jazz Band and FBLA/BPA. Jasmine’s future plans are to play volleyball and run track at Northwestern College where she intends to major in Biology to become a zoo veterinarian. Her academic honors include the A honor roll all four years, All-Conference Academic Basketball and Volleyball three years.

Lance Berends
Lance is the son of Jeff and Holly Berends. His activities include Football and Basketball. Lance’s future plans are to attend a four-year college while playing college football. He is currently undecided as to which school.
Elise Haack
Elise is the daughter of Ryan and Erica Haack. She has participated in Volleyball, Basketball and Golf. Elise plans to attend the University of Iowa majoring in Biology and then continue on into U of I’s Pharmacy program.
Abby Kunzman
Is the daughter of Jill and Chad Kunzman. She has been involved in Volleyball, Softball, Jazz Band, Band, Student Council, National Honor Society and FCA. Abby is planning to attend college to major in Biology and then to continue on to pursue a career in Pediatric Dermatology. She is a member of the National Honor Society.
