Happy spring everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter with your family this past weekend. As I understand this was as late as Easter could have been, yet it seems like it came and went so fast. Must just be me getting older. Anyway, it’s that time again for me to keep you abreast of all the Sanborn Chamber members events and opportunities.
Coming up next week is a super fun event we are pumped to promote “Winter Succs!”. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 30th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to attend. The event will be held at Yesterday’s Museum and offer not only a variety of vendors, but the opportunity to create your own beautiful succulent arrangement. Vendors in attendance include: Color Street, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, West Rugs & Handmade Creations, Midwest Mrs., Sues Tumblers, Bruce’s Repair, JJ Goat Soap, Midwest Design, Tupperware, Green Compass, and MORE! As far as your succulent arrangement goes, you can bring in your own container or select one from Zandstra’s Family Greenhouse. If you get hungry while your shopping till you drop and creating beautifulness the Mi’Ono Club will be serving up some homemade goodness to be purchased.
For those of you with younger children or grandchildren Family Health Chiropractic has organized a super neat even for kids. Safe Kids Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sanborn fire station. It is an event that allows kids to meet their local Firefighters, Ambulance crew and Police Officers. Attendees can enjoy inflatable fun, caricatures, face painting and more, but the most exciting thing will be the arrival of the Sanford Med Helicopter at 11:00 a.m. The Firefighters will be serving lunch for purchase if all the lights and sirens get you hungry. What an awesome thing to have here in Sanborn! Mark your calendars to attend!
As I mentioned last month, this year’s Railroad Days celebration will be here before we know it. We are trying something a little different this year by creating a separate Railroad Days committee that would coordinate the annual event and then dissolve until the next year. Rob Balt has volunteered to head up the committee and has several people interested, but always looking for more. So, if you would like to help plan the activities, entertainment and events that occur the fourth weekend of July, give Rob a call or reach out to us at sanbornchamber@gmail.com and we will get you guys together. We do know that our friends at Commercial Chaos will be in attendance, Fireworks will occur and it’s an all-school reunion year. ALWAYS a good time!
Before I leave you for the month I’d like to mention that the Sanborn Country Club officially opened on April 14th and besides getting some golfing in they will be serving noon meals and supper 7 days a week. Always exciting when the course opens…just a little bit closer to summer.
That’s all I have for you this month! ave a great April and remember to shop local!
