Early morning fire does damage to Sanborn garage
The Sanborn Fire Department was called to possible house fire at 303 W 3rd Street in Sanborn at 12:09 a.m. on Monday, July 4. Upon the arrival of the firefighters it was discovered that a box of already discharged fireworks had rekindled and started on fire and melted the siding on the northwest corner of the garage of that address. The fire was called in by a passerby.
The Fire Department used about 50 gallons of water to put out the fire. Firefighters removed three pieces of siding and made sure the fire hadn’t gone under the siding. The fire was out in about 45 minutes.
