This was the Decade of Progress Issue of the Sanborn Pioneer. It consisted of 16 pages with each business and the churches featuring ads and articles on each showing how Sanborn has grown. Forty-three ads were printed in this issue by the businesses and churches.

The Sanborn Pioneer has begun compiling information for the 1998 Sanborn Community Calendar.
The Sanborn Municipal Light Plant will host a free customer appreciation lunch in observance of the 50th anniversary of the electric utility and the 15th anniversary of Community Cable Television at Miller Park on October 11, 11:30-1:30 p.m.
The members of Ray and Henri Schnurr’s card club surprised them Sunday night with a housewarming party.
