On Monday, January 16, eight Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn students participated in the Northwest Iowa Choral Directors Association Honor Choir held at Dordt College in Sioux Center.
Over 250 students prepared music, rehearsed all day, then performed an excellent concert in the evening. Congratulations are in order for the following students representing HMS: Eric Aguirre, Jaela Anliker, Jamie Diaz, Bryce Dodge, Ryan Grotluschen, Bryanca Holtz, Tayler Webster and David Wetrich.
The Honor Choir was under the direction of Ted Brimeyer. Mr. Brimeyer has served as Director of Choirs at Urbandale High School since 2010. In 2020 he joined the faculty of Drake University as an Adjunct Teaching Artist conducting Borealis, Drake’s auditioned treble choir.
