Although golfers faced strong winds April 11, at least the Sanborn Golf and Country Club course was finally able to host some War Eagle Conference action. Visiting Remsen St. Mary’s got the better of that action as Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn lost the opener 178-208.
Jack Mastbergen was the lone medalist for HMS. His runner-up round of 43 was just higher than the low score of 42, turned in by Austin Klein. The other HMS scores were a 51 from Charlie Conway, a 56 from Slayton McCarter and a 58 from Lucas Kroese.
