Last Thursday evening classmates of the Class of ‘69 enjoyed a get-together at Jay’s Restaurant. Those able to attend were Connie Bousma, Sandra Kleve, Cindy McParland, Carol Salazar, Rexann Brandt, and MaryAnn Grooters.
Barb Pry enjoyed a two-day getaway in Deadwood, SD this past week with Deb Moser of Sioux Falls, SD and Deanne Bohnenkamp of Remsen.
A bridal shower was held at Community Reformed Church in Sioux Falls on Saturday morning for Abby (Pyle) Pritchard of Sturgis, SD. She is the granddaughter of Harriet Van Veldhuizen. Attending from Sanborn were Harriet and Jeane Van Veldhuizen, Donna and Kim Farrell, and Nancy Van Dyke. Other aunts and cousins came from Hull and Doon, IA and Sioux Falls, SD. There were also several friends from Huron and Sioux Falls, SD. In the afternoon, Jeane and Harriet visited in the home of their husbands’ cousin, Bertha Roetman at Sioux Falls. They then went to Rock Valley and enjoyed coffee at Jeane’s sister, Esther Van Den Berg. They took Esther along to Sioux Center where they visited Jeane’s and Esther’s sister-in-law, Gert Aberson and also Jeane and Harriet’s cousin, Mardy Bruinsma. They enjoyed an evening meal together at a local restaurant.
Last Friday evening Carol Salazar, Cindy McParland, Kathy Ginger and Susan Leth attended the dinner and play, “According to Schedule” held in Primghar. They reported that the meal was delicious and the play was great.
The Crazy 8 Card Club met Friday at Jay’s Restaurant for lunch and 500. Shirley Mulder was hostess. Jean Snyder was high scorer, Donna Fell, second, and Sandi Kleve and Gayle Vander Woude tied for low.
Randy and Candice Lyman spent the weekend in Lincoln, NE in the home of Swede and Kim Eliker and Ryker.
Last week Monday Sylvia Andringa’s sister-in-law, Melva Hoaglund of Orange City visited her.
