Mi’Ono Club’s Roseland Cemetery project moving toward completion
For the last few years, Sanborn’s Mi’Ono Club members have invested hundreds of hours on a project to get the Roseland Cemetery mapped out to provide a directory of those laid to rest there.
The directory will be available in two forms: digital and physical. The physical map will be made by Sybesma Graphics and installed at the cemetery shed along with a printed alphabetical listing and map information. The digital format will be an app with all the information and will become available in the near future.
The Mi’Ono Club used memorial donations from former members Jeanette Endorf and Donna Raymond to purchase street signs and poles which were put in place this week by the city. The Mi’Ono Club also purchased the app and the vinyl map.
Many thanks to Adam Roelfs for his excellent work with the Mi’Ono Club in ordering the signs/poles, and, to him and the city workers for installing them this week. Thanks also to the City of Sanborn, Sanborn/Hartley Funeral Home and Sybesma Graphics for their assistance in this project. The Mi’Ono Club is proud to present another service project to our community of Sanborn.
There is currently a way for the public to access the on-line grave directory for the Roseland Cemetery. The steps are:
- Go to gravediscover.com
- Select the state (Iowa)
- Select the town (Sanborn)
- Select Roseland Cemetery
- From there, you can select “search occupied graves” which allows the user to search by last name, or first and last name. Or, the user can select “search available graves” which will show them a map with all the pinpoints of available graves.
