The Crazy 8 Card Club met at Jay’s Restaurant Friday for lunch and then played 500. Linda Rozeboom was hostess. Donna Fell won high score, Gayle Vander Woude second, and Shirley Mulder was low. Barb Pry substituted for Ardis Dummett.
Linda Rozeboom drove to Omaha, NE Saturday to the home of Paul and Shelly Rozeboom. She went especially to attend the birthday party for her great-grandson, Judson Rozeboom on his third birthday. The party was hosted by his parents, the Matthew Rozebooms and sisters Emily and Cora.
Linda Rozeboom hosted a birthday luncheon last week Wednesday in the home of Charlotte Dasen. Other guests were Glenda Schirmer and Lisa Smith. Charlotte turned 91 years young on that day.
Jose and Carol Salazar visited last Thursday morning in the home of Charlotte Dasen to wish her a happy birthday.
Bob Ellett of Iowa City was in Sanborn for a few days last week and stopped Thursday evening to visit with his old neighbor, Charlotte Dasen.
Jerry and Cathy Gray of Rochester, MN came Saturday and were overnight guests in the parental Charlotte Dasen home. They enjoyed Mother’s Day dinner together on Sunday.
Don and Pat Enger entertained family for Mother’s Day. Guests included Terry and Kerry Enger of Waukee and Travis, Haley and Kailey Enger.
Lee and Susie Van Tol attended a graduation party Friday for twin grandchildren, Chase and Sami Van Tol at Tea, SD. They are the children of Dave and Stacey Van Tol.
On Saturday Lee and Susie Van Tol attended the graduation party at Lake Park for their step-granddaughter, Kaira Kenria, daughter of the late Marlin and Sherry Van Tol.
Jack and Carol Elgersma attended the graduation ceremony and reception for Ashley Holz from West Lyon School Saturday. Also attending the reception from Sanborn were Brandi, Maci, Jack and Kennedy Wright, Becky and Jim Suckow, and Norm Holz. Ashley is the daughter of Jack and Angie Holz.
Sunday luncheon guests for Mother’s Day in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home were Andy and Brandi Wright and children Maci, Jack and Kennedy.
Ross Raymond and his girlfriend, Connie and her son Kato surprised Rex and Debbie Raymond Sunday by stopping in for the afternoon.
Jayden Lyman graduated from Northwest Iowa Community College last Friday and also celebrated her 21st birthday at a party hosted by Chad and Rhonda Lyman. It was enjoyed by family and friends.
Last Saturday Jose and Carol Salazar attended the graduation of their grandson, Eric Anthony Salazar. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Education. He will be teaching in Rock Valley.
