Nick Postma of Ankeny spent the weekend in the home of Jim and Heidi Postma. He was here for the graduation of his nephew Dylan Postma who graduated from HMS High School Sunday.
Jack and Carol Elgersma and Jim and Becky Suckow attended the Service of Remembrance held Saturday at the Hartley Funeral Home. They went in remembrance of their father, Don Hakeman.
Lorn and Joan Wills recently attended the band concert for Ben Quinones at Southeast Polk school in Pleasant Hills.
Saturday Shawn and CJ Schroeder were supper guests for “movie night” at the home of Jim and Becky Suckow.
Mark and Connie Noll of Iowa Falls stopped to visit Charlotte Dasen Tuesday. They were in the area to decorate graves for Memorial Day.
Cathy Gray of Rochester, MN came last week Tuesday to stay with her mother, Charlotte Dasen, who was having problems with vertigo. She returned home on Thursday.
Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ arrived last week Wednesday to spend vacation time with his mother.
Jack and Carol Elgersma attended the graduation exercises of their granddaughter, Chloe Elbon from Forest City High School Sunday. Chloe is the daughter of Jeff and Alissa Holland.
Randy and Darla Brown and Joe Brown went to Denison Saturday to attend the wedding of Alex Brown, son of Dennis Brown. There were a lot of family attending.
On Friday Jose and Carol Salazar traveled to Fremont, NE to attend dance shows in which granddaughters Ady and Claire Ten Kley participated. There was one show on Friday night and two shows on Saturday, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. They reported the girls did an awesome job and the shows were fantastic. They returned home on Sunday and granddaughter, Claire will be spending the week here with her grandparents.
Friday afternoon Harriet Van Veldhuizen went to Sioux Falls, SD to attend the Balleraena Dance Studio presentation of “Dancing Through the Holidays” at the Washington Pavilion. During the performance Harriet’s granddaughter, Anna Pyle, took part in four different styles of dances, always with a costume change. After the performance, Harriet, Shari, Anna and Leah Pyle were met at the Dairy Queen by Sioux Falls relatives: Heather Brunsting, David Van Dyke and friend, Jen, Chad, Diane and Katie McKee and friend, Tate, and Jeff McKee of Colorado Springs, CO. Harriet was an overnight guest of her daughter, Shari Pyle and on Saturday joined the McKee family to witness the graduation of Katie from Augustana University in Sioux Falls. Katie graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in Medical Laboratory Service. Later the McKee family and Tato and Katie’s other grandparents, Joe and Suz McKee of West Okoboji, enjoyed a luncheon at the “Kravan” restaurant. On her way home, Harriet spent some time at the home of her nephew, Craig and Lori DeRyke near Canton, SD. Their son, Clay and Amanda DeRyke and their children of Harrisburg were also there.
Lorn and Joan Wills attended the graduation ceremony May 12 at NCC for Jayden Lyman. Jayden received degrees in medical coding and Health Information Technology. A reception was held later at her home. Vickie Quinones and Ben also attended.
Don and Donna Olson of Sioux City and Paul and Shelly Rozeboom of Omaha, NE visited Linda Rozeboom Saturday.
