Several Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn athletes have earned honors following the recently concluded softball and baseball seasons.
Gracie Knobloch was named to the Class 2A All-Northwest District Softball Team by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Jacob Cates received Class 1A Northwest All-District Honorable Mention from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA). Knobloch was a sophomore on this year’s team and Cates was a junior.
Tyson Tessum was named to the IHSBCA 2nd Team Academic All-State Team for the 2023 season. The 1st Team consists of the top 23 senior players, nominated by their coaches. The next 20 senior players received a 2nd Team All-Academic certificate. The Academic All-State Team covers all four Classes: 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A.
