Three join the staff at Sanborn Christian School
The 2023-24 school year at Sanborn Christian School sees the arrival of three new staff members. Anna Bootsma is the 3rd Grade Homeroom Teacher. Lori De Groot will serve as Pre-school Aide Teacher. Tanner Moser assumes the duties of Secretary. The three would like to share a bit about themselves.
Anna Bootsma
I am excited to be teaching at Sanborn Christian this year! I grew up in Sheldon and attended Sheldon Christian and Western Christian. I graduated from Dordt University in 2019, so this will be my 5th year of teaching. I previously taught 3rd grade at La Canada Elementary in California and at Sioux Center Christian. My husband, Luke, and I live in Boyden. My husband works for Boer and Sons, owns Bootsma Cutting, and is also in the Air Force Reserve. I love the close-knit community at Sanborn Christian and the opportunity I have to partner with the staff and students’ parents to help students learn about God and His creation and to grow in their faith.
Lori De Groot
My name is Lori De Groot and I am the new Pre-school Aide Teacher at Sanborn Christian School. I am originally from Ontario, Canada where I grew up on a dairy farm. I moved to Northwest Iowa 12 years ago to go to college where I studied Early Childhood Education. In 2013 I graduated from college and married Sam De Groot. I then worked as a Preschool Teacher in Alton, IA for 2 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. During the time I had at home with my 2 kids, I started up an in-home daycare business that I have done for the past 5 years. While I loved my time of working with kids in my home, I am excited to be back in a classroom setting!
Tanner Moser
I lived in Sheldon, Iowa until I was 12 years old and then moved to Sanborn and have been here pretty much since then! After graduating High School in Sheldon, I attended college at USD for a semester, but finished up the year at NCC in Sheldon. My husband, Dustin, and I have been married for 7 years. We have 2 children, Brooks who is 5 and starting his first year of preschool at Sanborn Christian, and a daughter, Emmy, who is 2. My husband works for Hartog Elevator and has been there for about 2 years now. He grew up in Sanborn and attended Sanborn Christian! I am excited to see what the future holds at Sanborn Christian and even more excited to see God work through the staff and students!
