City of Sanborn removes trees prior to street resurfacing project

In the past month a total of 65 trees have been removed from the right-of-ways south of the railroad tracks and along 3rd Street in Sanborn. City Administrator Jim Zeutenhorst and Public Works Supervisor Adam Roelfs reported to the City Council that what was intended to be a fall project moved up due to the schedule of Schwebach Tree Service, which removed the trees.
With the Emerald Ash Borer insect infestation damaging trees in Sanborn, ash trees and other dead or dying trees were removed prior to the resurfacing work on 3rd Street.
The project showcased the Sennebogen tree care handler that Schwebach Tree Service utilized to quickly remove the trees. The machine is just the third one in use in Iowa.
