Sanborn Christian School students let their light shine through Work-A-Thon
On October 20, students, staff and volunteers of Sanborn Christian School participated in a special event in the Sanborn Community. For the Work-A-Thon fundraiser, students collected pledges and got busy to work. They did various fall clean up work such as trimming bushes, cleaning up landscaping plants and raking leaves – all while taking in the beautiful 70 degree sun! Some students ventured out to Douma Park and worked with some members of O’Brien County Conservation. Some students helped clean up the Community Garden.
One of the highlights of the morning was singing to the residents of Prairie View. Along their way to various projects, they enjoyed stopping at some community members’ homes, delivering a treat and a hug or two!
The Work-A-Thon offers an exciting way for Sanborn Christian students to engage in their learning through loving and serving others. Matthew 5:16 reads “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
