Wade and Sherryl Tressler traveled to Waterloo for Thanksgiving. Al and Vicki Endorf hosted the meal. The Tresslers’ granddaughter, Jade Paulsen and Gage Butler of Iowa City joined them. On Saturday Rae Lyn and Roger Paulson of Sheldon hosted a belated Thanksgiving. Connie Brewster of Sanborn also joined them.
Thanksgiving Day guests in the Charlotte Dasen home were her house guests, Steve and Anita Goetz, and Amy and Charlotte Ingram of Fairbanks, AK; also Jerry and Cathy Gray and Brian Gray of Rochester, MN. Cathy and Jerry were overnight guests. On Saturday Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden joined them for pizza for supper.
On Wed., November 15, Jose and Carol Salazar traveled to Fremont, NE to stay with granddaughters Ava, Ady and Claire Ten Kley while their mom and dad, Jeremy and Christy Ten Kley traveled to Georgia to bring a load of items to their son, Jacob and wife Lizzy Ten Kley, and returned back on Monday night, Nov. 20. Last week Tuesday Jose and Carol went on to West Des Moines to spend Thanksgiving with their son, Troy. They returned home on Friday.
Connie Ginger hosted a family Thanksgiving Dinner on Friday. Family members present were Pam Prine, Tammy Ginger, Cristy Ginger and Heather, Heather’s friend Kaleb Visser, Caleb, Haley and Jaxson Malenke, Tommy Ginger, Heath, Wendy, Luke and Bree Reitsma. The family also celebrated Bree’s 14th Birthday. Some of the group enjoyed bowling at Locomotion Lanes later in the evening.
Thanksgiving Day guests in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home were Stacey Eeten of Sioux Falls, SD, Alissa Holland, Taylen, Ellie and Jace of Buffalo Center, Chloe Elbon and friend, Dominic Bronson of Forest City, and Brandi and Andy Wright, Macie, Mack, Jack and Kennedy of Sanborn.
Rex and Deb Raymond spent Thanksgiving with her dad, Dale McBeth at Sioux Falls along with her older brother, Mike McBeth and his family.
Steve and Anita Goetz and Amy and Charlotte Ingram left Sunday afternoon after spending a week in the Charlotte Dasen home. They visited the Drew Zaffts at Hayfield, MN and the Jerry Grays at Rochester, MN before returning home to Alaska on Tuesday.
Thanksgiving Day guests for dinner in the Keith and Nancy Iverson home were Betheny, Brian, and Jenna Buren, Chase and Amber Vermeer, Huckson and Alivia of Orange City, Caleb and Shania Buren, and Bentley of Granville, Brent Elgersma, Shane and Lanea Elgersma, Joey, Sam, Aubrey, and Marty of Otsego, MN, Brian and Shannon Letsche, Baden, Megan Letsche, Rhett Kayler, Kaylee and friend Caleb, Kirsten and Crystal and Aaron, and Nick and Page Wiley, Gracine and Silas.
Thanksgiving Day guests in the Linda Maranell home were Mike, Danielle and Bryce Rozeboom of Sioux Falls. Cody Maranell of Ames visited in the afternoon.
On Saturday Paul and Shelly Rozeboom, Mike, Bryce and Danielle Rozeboom of Sioux Falls, and Linda Roeboom attended the wedding of their niece and cousin, Kara Maranell to Mitchell Sand. The wedding was held at Round Lake Winery at Round Lake, MN.
Joanne Andersen spent Thanksgiving at Sioux Falls on Saturday at the home of her daughter, Athena Kellenberger. All of the Kellenberger kids were home from college: newlyweds from Denver, all of Peter’s family from Isanto, MN, Pamela and husband from Des Moines, and April and family from Iowa City. The weather was nice so they took many family pictures outdoors.
Arleen Thorne and her granddaughter, Jill York from Alva, OK came to Iowa to attend the funeral of their relative, “Hap” Thorne at Everly on Monday. They were “bed and breakfast” guests at the home of Harriet Van Veldhuizen from Monday afternoon to Thursday morning. On Monday night Jeane and Harriet Van Veldhuizen took them to Sheldon to attend the Civic Music Concert. On Tuesday noon the four ladies met with other Van Veldhuizen cousins at the Sheldon Pizza Ranch. Joining them were Arlene Punt of Orange City and Marilynn and Dale DeBoer of Sibley. Wednesday evening the four ladies attended the Thanksgiving worship at the Sanborn First Reformed Church. On Thursday Arleen and Jill had Thanksgiving dinner with Thorne relatives and traveled back to Oklahoma.
Scott Chrisman was among the family members gathering for a noon meal on Thanksgiving Day at the Gerry Chrisman home in rural Sheldon.
Sara Luenberger hosted the Schirmer family Thanksgiving on Saturday at George. Attending were Sandy and Jim Luenberger, Rachel and Kinsey Schirmer, Lisa and Dan Gonnerman, Matt, Brittany, Alleigh and Tayt Dolphin, Norman and Isabel Schirmer, and Kent and Glenda Miller.
Larry and Fran Peelen spent a night in the Dianne and Ken Meyer home at Omaha. The next morning Dianne accompanied the Peelens to Longmont, CO to attend the wedding of Larry’s niece, Sirrie Rose. They met Larry’s sister Marjean Swan, her daughter Lara and Larry’s cousin Sandy Fiskie. There was lots of visiting and catching up. Larry’s sister Marjean had been very ill with Influenza A & B. The Peelens returned to Omaha and then to their home on Monday.
Jim and Becky Suckow spent from Thursday to Saturday in the home of their daughter, Amy at Eden Prairie, MN. Andrew Suckow of West Des Moines also came for Thanksgiving.
Lee and Susie Van Tol spent Thanksgiving Day as guests of Mike and Judy Visser. Other guests were Troy and Tanya Bouma and family, Justin and Mandy Hoekstra and family of Hull, Gertie Visser, Virgil Horstman of Hull and Scott Horstman.
Darin and Sharissa Wright, Olivia and Gavin of Spencer picked up Delores Popma on Saturday for Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Ray and Rachel Wright at Whiting. Others in attendance were Joel and Kathy Wright of Sanborn, Heather Wright of Lawton, Derrick and Shannon Goosen, Jules, Axel and Sierra of Minneota, MN, Melcom and Sheena Cortnar, Shealey, Madelyn and Samuel of Winterset, Nolan and Lauren Wright, Charlie and Beck of Denver, CO and Alexia and Ryan Goser of Des Moines.
Tom and Trica Peelen, and grandchildren brought Thanksgiving dinner to Larry and Fran Peelen. Tim and Wendy Peelen, Brett and Sheila Peelen, Koby and Parker joined them for dinner. Tom and Trica returned home Wednesday.
