Harriet and Jeane Van Veldhuizen went to Rock Valley Saturday morning to attend a 5th grade basketball tournament to watch Harriet’s great-grandson, Micah Johnson play for the Boyden-Hull Comets. After the first game Jeane went to her sister, Esther Van Den Berg in Rock Valley. After the second game, Harriet enjoyed noon lunch with her daughters, Shari Pyle and girls Anna and Leah and friend of Sioux Falls, SD and Nancy and Ryan Van Dyke of Sanborn. After the third game Harriet spent a brief time with Micah’s family, Carl, Julie and Sawyer Johnson of Doon, and his grandparents, Janet and Ken Brunsting of Hull. She then went to Esther’s home and enjoyed coffee with Esther and Jeane.
David Van Roekel, who was hospitalized in Sioux City, has been transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, 17500 Burke Street, Omaha, NE 68118. He is recovering from numerous strokes.
Barb Marineau of Sheldon, Cheryl Klaussen of Little Rock, and Lindy Buren had a girls day Saturday. They had a wonderful lunch at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge, then off to Spencer for retail therapy and bargain hunting. They returned to Lindy’s home for more laughs until 8:00 p.m. It was the first time they had been together in 15 years and now are planning another trip in April.
Linda Rozeboom visited Larry and Cloe Starkenberg at Lake Park Saturday afternoon.
Cindy Baxter was honored for her 90th birthday at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge on Monday, Feb. 26. Celebrating with her were Angie Kamradt, Linda Rozeboom, Linda Douma and Glenda Miller.
