Paullina Youth Places Third at the 2024 Iowa Games

Zachary Rohwer, a youth wrestler from Paullina, recently wrestled in the Summer Iowa Games in Ames on Saturday, July 20 where he took third place.
Zachary is the son of Pioneers own Vanessa Rohwer her husband Nate. His grandparent’s are Karen and Phil Reusch of Cherokee and Susan and Ben Rohwer of Paullina. Zachary goes to South O’Brien School and wrestles for the South O’Brien Wolverine Youth Wrestling Club.
Zachary wrestled in the 63-67 pound weight class at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center Iowa State Campus, Ames. His first match he wrestled Owen Beaty of Bedford fought hard all three rounds and lost by decision, 0-6. In the last match Rohwer got caught in a tight arm bar and lost to Logan Fratzke of Jesup by fall at 1:44.
Zachary said he wants to thank all his coaches, Bryce Kelleher, Josh Logan and Adam Gress for working with him.
