Okoboji/HMS placed seventh in the 15-team field at the Orab Girls Wrestling Invitational held January 4 at Sheldon. The Pioneers scored 93 points. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock was the team champ with 200.5 points.
Brooke Stockdale was the top place-finisher for Okoboji/HMS, taking second place at 110 pounds. Brilee Fauth was third at 125 pounds. Fourth-place finishes were earned by Kaela Weston at 100 pounds and Jenessa Gates at 170.
Miley Appeldorn was the only wrestler from HMS competing. She lost both her matches by pin, falling to East Sac County’s Sophia Villegas in 1:37 and to Brooklyn Jager of Akron-Westfield in 59 seconds.
