One of the worst snowstorms in many years swept through the area halting activity and travel for three days. The Weather Bureau officially called it a blizzard and 19 inches of snow was measured here.
At the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of Sanborn Savings Bank on January 7, R.E. Lowery was elected Executive Vice President and Merne Haack was elected Cashier.
The John B. Hofland Farm Auction which was to have been held on January 17 has been postponed.
Jeff Allen has bought the interest of Jim Chatwell in Town and Country Body Shop on Highway 18.

Woltz Photography will be taking children’s photos to be featured in the Sanborn Pioneer. Pictures will be taken January 25 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.
Knights of Columbus Free Throw champs advance to District Level on February 13.
