A new City warning siren was installed June 24 on Eastern Street near the Community/Donation Garden and Yesterday’s Memories Museum. It replaces the siren located in the alley between Carroll and Sibley Streets near the former St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church building.
“That siren was not working properly and could not be repaired,” explained Sanborn City Administrator Jim Zeutenhorst. “The one that was installed has a larger range and we also felt that the existing warning siren in its current location was at times hard to hear on the East end of town so we decided to move the new one further east to its current location. This was also a recommendation from the siren company for a better coverage of the east end of town.”
