Wolves find ways to get on base in win over HMS

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn gave up only four hits against Harris-Lake Park but allowed numerous other baserunners. The Wolves drew five walks and three times were hit by pitches in posting an 11-1 win over HMS in five innings June 24 at Lake Park.
In 3-2/3 innings on the mound starting pitcher Caden Douma yielded eight runs on the four hits. He struck out five batters, walked four and hit one. Six of the runs were earned. Hunter Daggett entered the game in relief, surrendering three earned runs. He walked a batter and hit two more. The Hawks were charged with just one error in the game.
The HMS run came in the fifth inning. Daggett walked and stole second. He scored on Lawton Schiphoff’s RBI single. Douma had two hits in the game and Blake Meendering also notched a single. Douma and James Carlin walked, Grant Kunzman was hit by a pitch and Douma also reached base on an error.
