Welcome Home former Sanbornites

Fay Schall – Sanborn Preservation
Sanborn Carnegie Hall will be the scene of an open house during Railroad Days. On Thursday and Friday afternoon the 24th and 25th, Sanborn Preservation will sponsor a come-and-go gathering from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. where locals and visitors can drop by, enjoy light refreshments and chat with neighbors and friends.
This year happens to be the 55th year of Paradox’s existence on Main Street so Doc and Shay Maris were invited to spend the afternoon on Thursday in honor of the milestone. They are looking forward to renewing old friendships and “catching up” on Sanborn happenings.
Paradox opened its doors in November of 1970, the brainchild of Doc and his father Dr. C. Maris (pair of Docs). The event will be commemorated later this fall at the business location.
If you have yet to see the former library interior in its remodeled state please stop by and observe the metamorphosis. The former library has played host to a multitude of various functions since its reincarnation about a decade ago. A project of Sanborn Preservation, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit, “Carnegie Hall” is available for rent and operates totally on income from user and other donations.
Come join us during Railroad Days!
