On May 17 Carol Salazar, Kathy Ginger, and Cindy McParland helped Susan Leth celebrate her birthday. They enjoyed supper at Jay’s Restaurant and later cake and ice cream in the home of Carol Salazar.
Eddie and Tammy Knowlton of Crescent brought dinner and spent the day Sunday with Sally Knowlton. Additional dinner guests were David Amundson and Janie Slade of Canton, SD and Malinda Larson of Sioux Falls, SD. Bob and Connie Knowlton were afternoon guests. Eddie informed Sally that he and Tammy are again great-grandparents with the birth of Oscar Knowlton on Friday.
On Fri., May 21, Jose and Carol Salazar traveled to the home of their daughter, Christy TenKley at Hooper, NE. They went especially to attend dance shows for granddaughters Ady and Claire on Friday and Saturday. They also attended a baseball game for grandson Jacob on Monday evening. They returned home on Tuesday.
Saturday evening several members of the Corky Camarigg family got together at The Pizza Ranch in Rock Valley. The occasion was a farewell for Rev. Alan and Wanda Camarigg who are moving this week from their home in Minnesota back to Washington State.
Don Hakeman was a Saturday supper and Sunday dinner guest in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home. On Memorial Day, dinner guests were Andy and Brandi Wright, Maci, Jack and Kennedy, and Don Hakeman.
Mike Rozeboom of Sioux Falls, SD visited his mother, Linda Rozeboom Saturday and Sunday. He also did some work around the yard.
Marie Maranell of Carlisle is spending a week in the home of her mother, Wanda Schuver.
Brad and Joy Smith visited his mother, Shirley Smith on Memorial Day.
On Wed., May 26, classmates from the Class of ‘69 Sanborn High School, met at Jay’s Restaurant for supper. Those attending were Carol Salazar, Cindy McParland, Sandra Kleve, Faye Anema, RexAnn Brant, Connie Bosma, and MaryAnn Grooters. They enjoyed visiting and sharing memories.
Wanda Schuver and Marie Maranell brought supper Sunday and visited with Linda Rozeboom.
On Sunday afternoon Jose and Carol Salazar had a surprise visit from grandson Eric Salazar, fiance Keely Swanson, and grandson Alec Salazar. The enjoyed the visit and ice cream and cake.
Friday evening Dale and Marilyn DeBoer of Sibley joined Jeane and Harriet Van Veldhuizen at Jay’s Restaurant to celebrate Harriet’s birthday. Later they spent time playing cards and enjoying ice cream at Prairie View Manor.
Mike Blankers of Pfleugerville, TX was an overnight guest in the home of his aunt, Harriet Van Veldhuizen. Using his visit as an excuse, Harriet’s family had a surprise birthday dinner for her at Jay’s Restaurant on Saturday night. Attending were her daughters: Janet and Ken Brunsting of Hull, Donna and John Farrell and Kim, and Nancy and Ryan Van Dyke and Jake, all of Sanborn, David Van Dyke of Sutherland, Diane McKee and Katie and friend of Sioux Falls, SD, Kyle McKee of Bismark, ND, Shari Pyle and Leah and Anna of Huron, SD. Also there were Harriet’s nephews and niece, Craig and Lori DeRyke of Canton, SD, Jerry and Mary Blankers of Lake Wilson, MN, and Judy and Bill Steuck of Pipestone, MN. Unable to attend were Cathy and Doug Lyman of Livingston, TX and many grandchildren.
Jose and Carol Salazar drove Charlotte Dasen to St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery near Boyden on Thursday for her to decorate graves. They visited in her home later in the day.
Mark and Connie Noll of Iowa Falls visited Charlotte Dasen Friday afternoon. On Memorial Day Jerry and Cathy Gray of Rochester, MN came to visit and have dinner with her. Cathy planted flowers in containers for her mother.
