Cathy and Doug Lyman of Livingston, TX were overnight guests in the home of her mother, Harriet Van Veldhuizen from Wednesday through Thursday of last week. At noon on Thursday the three of them joined Jeane Van Veldhuizen for lunch at Prairie View Manor. In the evening they went to Rock Valley Pizza Ranch to join the Sioux Falls girls: Diane and Shari, and the Sanborn girls, Donna and Nancy and spouses and some of their families. Friday the Lymans visited various friends and Lyman relatives in Sanborn. Friday evening Cathy’s Class of ‘77 SHS had their 45th Class Reunion at the Country Club.
Wade and Sherryl Tressler had friends, Richard Brooks and Ruby Johns from Hutchinson, MN join them at the Douma Park Campground. They spent four days with the Tresslers.
Weekend guests in the Lee and Susie Van Tol home were granddaughters and families from Illinois: Crystal and Dwayne Allgeyer, great-grandson Emmette, Parker and new great-granddaughter, Reece whom the Van Tols met for the first time. Also granddaughter, Kayla and Nathan Middel and great-grandchildren Maddie and baby Grant. They were overnight guests. All enjoyed the Railroad Days Parade and the Sunday morning worship service in the park. They had noon dinner along with Mike and Judy Visser, Justin and Mandy Hoekstra and family of Hull. The Illinois family returned home Sunday afternoon. They reports lots of sweet memories for all of them.
Friday night Connie Ginger, Tammy Ginger, Cristy Ginger and Heather, Tommy Ginger, Wendy Reitsma, Lacie, Luke and Bree enjoyed a pizza supper at the Manor with Pam Prine who resides there. The group stayed to watch the fireworks.
David and Amy Ingram Parker and Charlotte of Fairbanks, AK arrived Wednesday of last week to spend time in the home of her grandmother, Charlotte Dasen. They left Monday morning for Texas where they will visit relatives before returning home.
Jess Horstman of Keystone Heights, FL came Wednesday of last week to spend Railroad Days in Sanborn. He was a guest of Charlotte Dasen while here and returned home on Tuesday of this week.
Steve Goetz of Fairbanks, AK arrived last week Tuesday to visit in the Charlotte Dasen home. He left this week Wednesday for California where he will visit his family. Anita had arrived earlier and will remain to visit until next week.
Jim Dasen of Cedar Rapids, Annie Kubik and Grant of Urbandale, Jerry and Cathy Gray of Rochester, MN, and Drew and Theresa Zafft, Hannah and Conner of Hayfield, MN came Friday and spent the Railroad Days weekend in the Charlotte Dasen home. They returned home Sunday. Anita Goetz accompanied the Grays to Rochester where she underwent surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital for the wrist she broke in a fall after the Railroad Days parade.
Charlotte Dasen entertained at a picnic dinner after the Railroad Days parade on Saturday. Guests were her house guests; and Charlie and Marilyn Schroeck of Arnolds Park and Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden. Friends stopping over included Bob Ellett of Iowa City, Mike Foley of Albuquerque, NM, the Eugene Postmas, Bill Postma. Steve and Mary Agar of Sibley, Doug Borden, Mike Carlson and Linda Rozeboom.
Weekend guests in the Connie Ginger home for Railroad Days were Wendy Reitsma, Lacie, Luke and Bree, Tommy Ginger and Carter and his friend Maci, Cristy Ginger and Heather, Haley Malenke and Tammy Ginger. Afternoon visitors were Trisha Odenbrett and Addie.
