Several Hawk runners among top finishers at South O’Brien invite
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn saw three of its runners place 17th or better in competition at the Wolverine Cross Country Invitational held September 29 at the Paullina Golf Club. Lexi Croatt finished 17th among the girls, while in the boys’ race, Bryce Dodge placed 15th, just ahead of George Vargas, who was 16th.
As for the HMS teams, the girls tied Sheldon with 163 points. Sheldon won the tie breaker to finish sixth, with the Hawks placing seventh. The HMS boys’ 153 points earned them sixth place. The team champions were George-Little Rock/Central Lyon for the girls and Sioux Central for the boys.
For the Hawk girls it was Gracie Knobloch finishing 26th, followed by Kamryn Ebel in 49th place, Juliana Pasillas in 50th and Clara Funk in 55th. Damian Dodge placed 40th on the boys’ side with Aiden Bush coming in 45th and Blaine Finster 52nd.
