The Okoboji/HMS wrestling squad journeyed to Emmetsburg December 10 to take part in the Bob Roethler Invitational. The Pioneers were eighth with 141 points. Spencer was the team champ with 216.5 points.
Okoboji/HMS got a first-place finish from Noah Strantz at 160 pounds, a second from Dylan Jones at 126 and a third from Tyce Hanson at 132.
A trio or wrestlers from HMS competed. James Gellerman placed fifth at 182 pounds. He alternated losses and wins by fall in his four matches. At 195 pounds, Ethan Wiersma dropped his opening match and then won his next four, including the 7th Place Match, by fall. Nathan Stofferan lost both of his matches at 106 pounds.
