John, Donna and Kim Farrell and Harriet Van Veldhuizen attended Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson, SD on Sunday for the worship service and baptism of Bradley Farrell, son of Bennett Ivan, and Jessica Feuston. Other Farrell relatives attending were Shari Pyle, Chad, Diane and Katie McKee, and friend Tate, all of Sioux Falls, SD. A luncheon was held at the Brad Farrell home in Garretson after the service.
Herb and Lorie Stryk visited in the Larry and Fran Peelen home after the men went on a tractor ride.
Last Thursday, May 4, Carol Salazar, Cindy McParland, Barb Pry, Jean Snyder, and Rexann Brandt went to visit Sandi Kleve to help her celebrate her birthday. They enjoyed cake and coffee and had a good time.
Rick Maranell, Bob Maranell, and Linda Rozeboom attended the graduation party Saturday in honor of their great-nephew, Baylor Kaup at Hooper, NE. Baylor is the son of Greg and Angie Kaup. Grandparents are Gary and Ronda (Maranell) Vondra, and Mike Schott, all of Fremont, NE.
Sunday afternoon Margaret Larson of Worthington, MN and Carol Salazar attended a baby shower at Rock Valley for grandson, Eric Salazar and granddaughter Keely Salazar. Carol will become a great-grandma in August.
Fran and Larry Peelen attended a bridal shower May 6 held for their granddaughter and future grandson held in Omaha. A bridal shower was held for Abby Meyer and a tool shower was held for Wes Beckler, which Larry Peelen attended in Millard.
Jim and Becky Suckow hosted a farewell get-together Saturday afternoon in honor of Rev. Keith and Shirley Christianson who will soon be moving to Arizona to make their home. Other guests were Rev. Joseph and Carrie Bangert, and Shawn and CJ Schroeder.
Mike and Judy Visser hosted an early Mother’s Day dinner Sunday. Guests were Lee and Susie Van Tol, Gertie Visser, and Justin and Mandy Hoekstra and family of Hull.
Larry and Fran Peelen attended the musical Wizard of Oz. Their granddaughter, Hannah Meyer was one of the lead dancers. Hannah did a point dance and then joined four other tap dancers and performed the Jitter Bug in perfect unison. The performance was two hours long but the time went by quickly. The Peelens heard many comments that the musical was better than the commercial musical. Hannah mentioned that the group has been asked to perform again.
