Ridge View used eight hits and nine walks to thump Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 12-1 May 20 at Holstein.
Jack Mastbergen managed the only hit for the Hawks when he doubled in the third. He scored their run courtesy of a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jacob Cates. Blake Meedering and Hunter Daggett each drew a pair of walks and Cates was hit by a pitch.
Mastbergen got the starting assignment on the mound and went 1-2/3 innings. He gave up six runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Four of the runs were earned. Aiden Bush finished out the second inning, allowing two earned runs on two hits. He walked two batters and struck out one. Dominic Tripp tossed the remaining 2-1/3 innings which included four earned runs on three hits with four walks and three K’s. HMS was guilty of three errors.
