Big inning powers Blackhawks past HMS

It took Hinton just three innings to close out Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. In one of those innings the Blackhawks plated 12 as they blasted HMS 19-2 June 5 as Hartley. With the loss the Hawks dropped to 0-4 in the War Eagle Conference and to 1-6 on the season.
Hinton banged out 14 hits, but with the Hawks committing four errors, only eight of their runs were earned. HMS pitcher Kamryn Ebel struck out two batters and walked a like number. Five Blackhawks were hit by pitches.
Ebel went 2-for-2 at the plate. She scored on Kinsey Schirmer’s triple. Schirmer then came home on a pitch that got past the catcher as the Hawks tallied twice in the first inning. Gracie Knobloch also had a hit. The Blackhawks’ Kayla Sypersma did not walk or hit a batter and the team played error-free ball behind her.
Hinton 3 12 4 – 19
HMS 2 0 0 – 2
