Mr. Gary Bohnet, high school English instructor, will represent the Sanborn Education Association at the Iowa State Education Association Delegate Assembly in Des Moines February 4-6.

Darla Jenness has been named 1971 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow for Sanborn Community High School.
Two Sanborn Community School seniors are among the 2,196 Young Iowans selected from this year’s State of Iowa program on the basis of their superior academic achievement. Certificates of Achievement will be presented to Nelva Van Wyk and Gregory McGranahan.
Merne Haack began working at Sanborn Savings Bank Monday, Feb. 1.
George Carlson, Sanborn town manager, was named to the presidency of the Northwest Iowa Development at a meeting held in Storm Lake.

The mercury dipped way below zero and stayed there several days this past week. Official lows of minus 28 and minus 27 were recorded here last week on February 2, 3 and 4.
The Sanborn Chamber of Commerce board of directors held a special meeting February 1 at Jay’s Restaurant…The Farm & Home Show will be held March 9 at the HMS Sanborn Center.
Onyx Lodge 419 AF & AM hosted a friendship night January 22 at the Lodge Hall. The evening commenced with a delicious meal prepared by Jim Morfitt and Merlin Timmons.
A newly established voluntary certification program called Certified Crop Adviser (CC) is being implemented across the nation for individuals within the ag industry…Brett J. Spykerman of Sanborn Coop Grain Company has successfully completed the requirements to receive CCA certification.
