Saturday afternoon guests of Jack and Carol Elgersma were Alissa Holland of Buffalo Center and Brandi, Maci, Jack and Kennedy Wright of Sanborn. Saturday supper guests were Stacey and Roy Eeten of Sioux Falls, SD, Don Hakeman and Jim and Becky Suckow.
On Thursday Nancy Nagel, Lois Klatt and Delorus Gaudian of Hartley brought pizza and were lunch guests of their sister, Naoma Schoof.
On Friday evening Marilynn and Dale DeBoer of Sibley and Harriet Van Veldhuizen met their cousin’s daughter, Joy and Dennis Haltom of Alva, OK for supper. They then spent some time visiting with Jeane Van Veldhuizen at Prairie View Manor. The Haltoms were in northwest Iowa for the Memorial Service for her aunt, Charlotte Thorm held at Everly on Saturday.
Lee and Susie Van Tol were among dinner guests Sunday in the home of Justin and Mandy Hoekstra at Hull. Additional guests were Gertie Visser, Mike and Judy Visser; and Garret Vander Zee and friend, Sarah, students at Dordt University. The occasion was to celebrate the sixth birthday anniversary of Emrie Hoekstra, great-granddaughter of the Van Tols.
Lowell Appleton stopped in Friday and Saturday evening to visit with his old HMS school classmate, Jeff Dasen who was visiting in the home of his mother, Charlotte Dasen.
Jill York and daughter, Remington of Dacoma, OK were weekend visitors in the home of Harriet Van Veldhuizen. They were in the area to visit Thorne relatives in the Moneta area and to attend the Memorial Service of her great-aunt, Charlotte Thorne at Everly. They also visited briefly with Jeane Van Veldhuizen at Prairie View Manor.
Corky Camarigg was a supper guest in the home of Mark and Denise Bohnet Saturday evening.
Saturday afternoon and supper guests in the home of Jose and Carol Salazar were grandson Eric Salazar and friend, Keely, grandson Alic Salazar, and Carol’s brother, Randy Brounko. They came to visit and also help Carol get ready for a garage sale this week. They enjoyed good food, played games and had a good time.
Janie Slade and David Amundson of Canton, SD visited their Aunt Sally Knowlton Sunday. They brought a carry-in dinner to enjoy with Sally.
Last Thursday Sandi Kleve and C.J. Schroeder attended the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League rally held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in May City. They represented St. John’s Lutheran Ladies Aid from Sanborn. The speaker was Sharon Irwin, representing Orphan Grain Train.
Don Hakeman was a supper guest of Jim and Becky Suckow Friday evening.
Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ left Sunday morning after spending the past 11 days in the parental Charlotte Dasen home. He spent a few days with his sister, Cathy Gray and family and with other relatives at Rochester, MN before flying home Wednesday morning.
