Linda Rozeboom returned home May 5 after undergoing surgery on her arm at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. She is recovering and confined to her home and is being cared for by her family. She has enjoyed numerous visitors since returning home.
On May 12 Jose and Carol Salazar traveled to Hooper, NE to visit in the home of their daughter, Christy Ten Kley and grandchildren Jacob, Ava, Ady and Claire. Their son-in-law, Jeremy Ten Kley has been deployed and left Monday for Djibouti, Africa for 11 months with the National Guard. Grandma Carol also attended a preschool event with Claire on Thursday. They attended two baseball games in which grandson Jacob played. They celebrated Christy’s birthday with dinner, ice cream and opening gifts. They reported a fun time and returned home on Sunday.
Gayle Vander Woude and Sally Knowlton visited Linda Rozeboom last Friday afternoon.
Visitors of Sally Knowlton Sunday were her nephew, David Amundson and niece Janice Slade of Canton, SD. They took Sally out to eat at Jay’s Restaurant and told Sally that his food is delicious.
Visitors in the home of Jim and Becky Suckow from Thurs., May 13 to Sun., May 16 were Becky’s cousins: Karen Van Oort-Hicks of Omaha, NE, and Craig Van Oort of Rochester, MN. They enjoyed golfing and taking in the Orange City Tulip Festival. On Friday and Saturday additional guests for supper were Don Hakeman and Jack and Carol Elgersma.
Don Hakeman was a Sunday dinner guest in the Jim and Becky Suckow home.
Larry and Fran Peelen visited their granddaughter Dr. Chelsea Peelen of Allison. Fran gave Chelsea some rhubarb plants and helped her plant them. Larry helped Chelsea plant some of her garden and prepared some of the garden for planting other seeds. The Peelens went to breakfast in Charles City the next morning, then visited the Floyd County Museum. Larry was looking for information about a corn planter his grandson Brett Peelen had bought. The Peelens returned home to one-half inch of rain.
Last Wednesday afternoon Harriet Van Veldhuizen attended the Boyden-Hull kindergarten graduation ceremony at Boyden where her great-grandson, Sawyer Johnson was one of the graduates.
On Friday afternoon Harriet Van Veldhuizen went to Sheldon with Ryan and Nancy Van Dyke and Donna Farrell to attend the graduation ceremony of Northwest Iowa Community College where Harriet’s grandson, Jacob Van Dyke graduated from the School of Business.
Sunday afternoon John and Donna Farrell, Ryan and Nancy Van Dyke, and Harriet Van Veldhuizen went to Webster City to attend the graduation party for Taylor Mason, daughter of Lori and Brandon Mason. Also there were her grandparents, Doug and Cathy Lyman of Livingston, TX and many other Lyman relatives from the Sanborn area.
Kent and Glenda Miller attended the First Reformed Church service at Steen, MN Sunday morning. Maverick Miller, daughter of Kayla and TJ Camden and granddughter of the Millers, was baptized during the service. A lunch was served after the service.
Larry and Fran Peelen attended the Tulip festival in Orange City and the musical Cinderella. They report that the tulips were very pretty.
