Jim and Becky Suckow spent Father’s Day weekend with their daughter, Amy Suckow at Eden Prairie, MN. Joining them there was their son, Andrew Suckow of West Des Moines.
Shawn McReynolds of Webb City, MO came for Father’s Day weekend. She was a guest of Randy and Candice Lyman and left last week Wednesday.
Swede and Kim Eliker and Ryker of Lincoln, NE were Father’s Day guests in the Randy and Candice Lyman home. They celebrated Ryker’s birthday on Saturday. Kim and Ryker stayed for a longer visit and Candice drove them home last week Wednesday.
Sunday dinner guests of Jim and Becky Suckow were Don Hakeman, and Jack and Carol Elgersma. Amy Suckow of Eden Prairie, MN arrived Sunday afternoon to visit in the Jim Suckow home and will visit until July 6.
On Sat., June 19, daughter, Christy TenKley and grandchildren Ava, Ady, and Claire arrived in the home of Jose and Carol Salazar to surprise Jose for Father’s Day. Joining them for Saturday evening were grandsons Eric and Alic Salazar. They enjoyed a barbecue and had a great time. Christy and children returned home on Monday afternoon.
Last week Tuesday afternoon coffee guest of Corky Camarigg was Bev Heemstra of Sheldon.
Saturday an Endorf Family Reunion was held at Douma Park hosted by Wade and Sherryl Tressler. The Arley, Verlyn, Beverly, and Tom Endorf families were all represented.
Allisa Holland, Chloe, Ellie and Jase were guests in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home Friday evening and Saturday. Joining them for supper Saturday evening were Don Hakeman, Jim and Becky Suckow, and Brandi Wright, Macie, Jack and Kennedy.
Last week Monday evening Carol Salazar, Susan Leth, Cindy McParland, and Kathy Ginger enjoyed supper at the Sanborn Country Club. They later returned to the home of Carol for coffee and dessert.
Last week Monday afternoon visitors in the Charlotte Dasen home were David and Joni (Bixenman) Weston of Kyle, TX, Bonnie Idso of Susanvill, CA, and Linda Rozeboom. The Bixenman family were in the area for a Bixenman family reunion.
Barney and Lindy Buren entertained guests over Father’s Day weekend. They celebrated the birthdays of Barney, Michelle DeJager, granddaughter of Rock Valley, and Elliot Carney, and they phoned Krista Ewoldt of Atlanta, GA for her birthday. They celebrated Saturday evening with a BBQ. Everyone had a good time. James Carney of Denison also came and stayed for the weekend.
On Friday evening Jose and Carol Salazar went to Okoboji and had a barbecue with their son Troy and April Salazar. Other guests were Amy and Tyler Dummett and family: Nancy, Carly and Haley, Mike and Pam Dummett and Michelle. Other guests were granddaughters Emma and friend Will, Isabelle, Chopper (Dan) and Linda Daggett, and Joe Daggett. They reported having a great time.
Linda Rozeboom stopped Saturday evening to visit Sally Knowlton and her sister, Sharon Jongerius.
Sunday visitors of Sally Knowlton were Janie Slade and David Amundson of Canton, SD, Malinda Larson of Sioux Falls, SD, Sharon Jongerius of Colomo, WI, Robert and Connie Knowlton of Primghar, Eddie and Tammy Knowlton of Crescent. Janie and David brought dinner.

Larry and Fran Peelen enjoyed a visit from Kathleen Lotman and friend Jeff from Lakewood, CA. Kathleen and Jeff own a Beaver motor home, which Jeff has refurbished. They have been attending Beaver rallies on their way to Kathleen’s daughters home. Kathleen and Larry are cousins. Tim and Wendy Peelen of Sanborn joined the Peelens and Kathleen and Jeff for lunch and visiting. On Monday Lyle Peelen from Sibley and David Peelen from Okoboji joined the Peelens and Tim Peelen and Kathleen and Jeff spent the day visiting. Jeff is a collector of cast iron cook ware and Fran Peelen took him to Treasure Chest where Jeff found a cast iron griddle. She then gave Jeff a tour of Sheldon. Jeff was amazed at the size of Sheldon and Sanborn, he thought these towns would be much smaller. Jeff and Larry attended a Value Added meeting where Jeff learned why our communities are thriving. The Peelens then gave Kathleen a tour of the Peelen farm where her mother grew up. They stopped at the Getting Strawberry farm for a hot dog lunch. Larry and Fran were celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. Tim and Wendy joined them for a dinner celebration at East Lake Okoboji. Tim took everyone for a drive around Arnolds Park. Kathleen and Jeff left Wednesday for Minneapolis to attend a graduation of her grandson from high school and a championship volleyball game that her grandson played in.
