Curtis and Aimee Carlson hosted a Carlson Family Reunion at their home in Emmetsburg a week ago Saturday. Present were Donna Fell, Janet Waite of Peoria, AZ, Joyce Hindman of Lincoln Center, OR., Stan and Nan Carlson of Iowa City, Tim and Beth Carlson of Cedar Rapids, Mike and Lori Carlson of Waverly; Tim’s son Cliff Carlson and five children of Hudson, WI., Casey and Jodi Carlson and their five children of Fenton, MO, and Cyle and Jamie Carlson and three children of Sanborn.
Alisa, Chloe, Taylen, Ellie and Jase Holland of Buffalo Center, and Brandi, Maci, Jack and Kennedy Wright were Saturday evening supper guests in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home. They came to help Jack celebrate his birthday.
Sunday afternoon visitors in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home were Shannon Letsche of Marcus, Betheny and Jenna Buren, and Chase, Amber and Huckson Vermeer of Orange City.
David Amundson and Janie Slade of Canton, SD and Melinda Larson of Sioux Falls, SD brought a delicious dinner to enjoy with Sally Knowlton on Sunday.
Jeff Smith of Zionville, IN is visiting his mother, Shirley Smith for a few days.
Amy Suckow of Eden Prairie, MN and Andrew Suckow of West Des Moines spent the weekend in the parental Jim and Becky Suckow home. Don Hakeman joined them for supper on Saturday and for dinner on Sunday. Amy returned home on Sunday and Andrew left on Monday.
Wanda Schuver, Arlene Boscaljon, and Shirley Smith accompanied Janice Vander Schaaf to Albert City on Saturday where they attended the open house in honor of Shirley Lackman on her 90th birthday anniversary. Shirley is a former Sanborn resident and Avon representative.
The Hickey sisters – Bernie Gainor of Phoenix, AZ, Barb Johnson of Overland Park, KS and Shirley Ramus McClain of Des Moines and Cousin Jean Benda of Jackson, MN and her daughter Jeanie met up at the Locomotion Bowling Alley during Railroad Days. They were joined by Ray Huibregtse of Sanborn, (Jean and Shirley’s classmate.) Shirley’s son Rick Amparo and daughter Kathy Russ also attended after camping at the campgrounds in Everly. Shirley’s son Kenny also surprised them and attended on Saturday. Everyone loved the events and really enjoyed Yesterday’s Memories Museum. The trip was a special joy for the Hickey sisters getting to stay at the Carnegie Library! They all met up at the “Standard Café” on Saturday. They are all hoping to return in 2022!
