A record low of 43 degrees was recorded for July 26. Temperatures are still on the low side.
Denice Strait has been hired as a full time assistant at the City Clerk’s office.
Bob Ellett reported his trip to Boys State held Jun 5-11 in this issue of the Pioneer.
The Sanborn community was shocked and saddened at the sudden death of George Carlson which occurred Monday…Mr. Carlson was at one time manager of the Sanborn Telephone Company and since January 1 had been employed by the Town of Sanborn as Town Clerk.

August 7, big day for everyone in Sanborn. The Sanborn Chamber of Commerce has completed plans for the year’s biggest event, the annual Flea Market.
A 38 degree low was recorded here July 30. The lowest State reading since July 1948.
The Sanborn Savings Bank has moved to a temporary location, first door north of the bank. This move is necessary due to the enlarging and remodeling of the present building.

Wallace and Arline English invite friends and relatives to their 60th anniversary open house from 2-5 p.m. Sat., August 10 at Miller’s Bay.
At their July meeting the Sanborn Municipal Light Plant Board of Trustees discussed planned replacement of poles and light fixtures along Highway 18.
A group from First Reformed Church attended Rocky Mountain High in Estes Park, CO leaving Friday and returning home Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Hakeman entertained guests Sunday afternoon to help them celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary.

Art and Naomi Bosch will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday at Cutty’s by hosting a catered buffet dinner to the Peter Bosch and William DeRoos descendants.
Strong winds blew down branches and medium size trees in Sanborn Sunday.
