Having missed the birthday party for Shirley Lackman, Joanne Andersen traveled to Albert City to visit Shirley. They had a lovely visit catching up and sharing pictures of the big 9-0 celebration.
Joanne Andersen recently drove to Des Moines where she attended the retirement event for her brother, Henry. Also attending were Henry’s wife, Barbara and their children and grandchildren, April, Dan, Casy, Lili, Christopher, Oliver and Julia. At Henry’s party, Joanne also talked to a guy who had done a drug prevention program at HMS. Pat McManus, “Rock in Prevention” gave three presentations to different age groups that time in the early 90’s. Pat has been a good friend to Henry, and Henry had given him some inside information on the three Andersen students. Pat recalled fondly how rapt and curious the students were. “How did Pat know they had grapefruit for breakfast?”
While she was on the road, Joanne Andersen visited her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Chris in Des Moines; and daughter and grandson April and Rowan in North Liberty.
