Jim and Heidi Postma recently returned from a week long stay in the home of Keri and Leon Postma at Windsor, CO. Some of the highlights of the trip included visiting Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Old Towne Fort Collins,sightseeing in Boulder, many scenic hikes, and attending the Great Northern Colorado Air Show in Loveland which was headlined by the Blue Angels aerobatic flight team.
Kent Miller returned home October 22 from a hunting trip in Colorado. He left October 9 and stayed three days with his sister, Karma Reed at Greeley. He and another hunter, and a hunting guide and wife (cook) with Silver Creek Outfitters hunted bear and elk at Steamboat Springs. They went up with four horses and three mules to an elevation of 9,860 feet where they camped in 10 inches of snow that fell while they were there. He reported enjoying the trip but they “never saw anything he wanted to shoot.”
On Sat., October 9 Naomi Bosch, Jackie Van Engen; and Donna Koerselman of Sheldon, traveled to Sioux City where they picked up Donna’s granddaughter, Allison Maloney. They all went to Ankeny where they attended a bridal shower for Naomi’s great-granddaughter, Emily Bosch. Deanne Gibson was in Florida with family and was unable to attend. The shower was given by Emily’s sisters and her Aunt Heather Davis and cousin Leah Davis. Allison received many nice gifts and everyone had a great time. Emily will become the bride of Isiah Blok of Sioux Falls, SD on December 18.
On Saturday Sally and Ken Feuchtenberger of Morris, MN and their daughter, Kami Meyer and her daughter, Brynlee of Lester, visited in the home of their aunt, Harriet Van Veldhuizen. At noon they were joined by their cousins, Donna and John Farrell at Jay’s Restaurant.
Barb Pry attended the wedding of Amy Wingert to Bill Montgomery held at Sutherland Saturday. A reception was held in Sheldon.
Jack and Carol Elgersma entertained Don Hakeman and Jim and Becky Suckow for pizza Saturday evening.
David Amundson and Janie Slade of Canton, SD brought dinner and visited with Sally Knowlton Sunday. Additional visitors were Bob and Connie Knowlton of Primghar and Barb Pry.
Don Hakeman was a Sunday dinner guest in the Jim and Becky Suckow home.
Patricia Cooper of Indianola, spent the past week with her mother, Wanda Schuver.
Corky Camarigg enjoyed lunch at a Sheldon restaurant last week Tuesday with a group of her friends there.
Sylvia Andringa celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday at Vander Haag’s Museum. The event was hosted by her children who were all present. She was so happy to see so many well-wishers, many of whom she had not seen in awhile. Her sister-in-law, Marilyn Andringa of Artesia, CA came with her daughters, Teri of Ceritos, CA and Deann of Bellflower, CA. On Sunday Stan and Deb Andringa of Armstrong took Sylvia and her California guests to the Wells Blue Bunny ice cream store in LeMars. Marilyn and daughters returned home Monday. While here they stayed at the Carnegie and were impressed with the accommodations.
